Ormond JETS Beginner Program Term 1 2024 Register here: https://www.trybooking.com/CPHYC The Ormond JETS want to provide pathways for new players to try the game of basketball in a fun and supportive environment before moving into a domestic team. The aim of this program is: 1. To provide new players a chance to try the game of basketball and grow their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Provide a pathway for new players to join a domestic team once they can demonstrate a skill level and understanding of the rules which will allow them to enjoy playing at the domestic level. Dates: 1. Sunday 18th February NO SESSION Sunday 25th February 2. Sunday 3rd March 3. Sunday 10th March (Long Weekend – Session still occurring) NO SESSION Sunday 17th March 4. Sunday 24th March Age & Time:   6 – 10 year olds: 12.15pm – 1.15pm Location: Elsternwick Primary School (44 Murphy St, Brighton VIC 3186) What to bring: A basketball (Size 5 recommended), drink bottle and a smile. Cost: $50 for the 4 week program. There are ONLY 24 spots available in each session so please register early to avoid disappointment. Follow the below link to register. Register here: https://www.trybooking.com/CPHYC What will be covered: - Mini modified games to practise skills under game like pressure - Drills covering:     - Dribbling     - Pivoting and protecting the ball     - Shooting technique     - Passing under pressure     - Lay – ups     - Moves to help get around defenders - Basic offensive principles of spacing and moving. - Basic defensive principles of how to stop opposition players from scoring. An overview of the main drills will be given to parents so they can practice with their child between sessions to increase skill development.
